The Washington Post endorsed Salah for Ward 1 because of his experience and unique insights on public safety, saying he “has smart ideas about how to build the public trust in police that is so crucial to crime prevention.” While Brianne Nadeau is “increasingly on the wrong side of important issues,” Salah’s experience and fresh approach make him “the clear choice” for Ward 1.
Public safety is a top priority for Salah. From his experience as a former DC police officer to his continued public service helping to run community outreach and volunteer programs, Salah will put his experience to work to ensure our streets are safe for all of us.
If elected, Salah Czapary would be the only openly LGBTQ member of the council. LGBTQ Victory Fund proudly endorses Salah because he will work to ensure DC is a place where opportunity is equally shared, and all people are safe and respected.
